Interesting film reviews (still waiting for news from Catch me if you can)...source Variety
LOTR: The Two Towers
After venturing forth from paradise to traverse Middle-earth last year, Frodo & Co. push closer to hell in "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers." The middle section of director Peter Jackson's prodigious adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic trilogy of good and evil is in some respects a more impressive film than its well received predecessor. Marked by nonstop conflict and a gargantuan climactic battle that Akira Kurosawa would have envied, the new picture has a sharper narrative focus and a livelier sense of forward movement than did the more episodic "Fellowship." There can be no doubt that the vast majority of the worldwide public that gave the first entry an $860 worldwide gross will return for this amply satisfying second serving of fantastical adventure.
And once again, Howard Shore's vigorous score, seemingly somewhat altered and darkened, and sans the Enya contributions, provides valuable support.
Gangs Of New York
"Gangs of New York" bears all the earmarks of a magnum opus for Martin Scorsese: Fascinating and fresh material about his beloved New York City, an epic reach, an equally epic gestation period, a dynamic criminal element, combustible socio-political-religious elements, outstanding actors and sophisticated allusions to cinema history that inform and enrich the experience. The enormously ambitious picture that has emerged after some 30 years of on-and-off effort and more than two years of production falls somewhat short of great film status, but is still a richly impressive and densely realized work that bracingly opens the eye and mind to untaught aspects of American history. An aggressive marketing campaign by Miramax, with an emphasis on the big names atop the cast, and the attendant publicity surrounding release of the long-awaited production, will assure a strong commercial start, and any awards bounty will help. But, as it almost always has with Scorsese films, the mass public will likely resist the violence and tough, unsentimental stance of the picture, resulting in hard-won midrange B.O.
the barrelful of source music that dominates a soundtrack filled out by Howard Shore's mostly effective but occasionally intrusive score

Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg will produce the internationally acclaimed comicstrip "Tintin" as a live-action feature for Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures.U and DreamWorks are currently negotiating the "Tintin" feature rights with Nick Rodwell of Moulinsart, the company that holds the "Tintin" properties created by late cartoonist Georges Remi under the pseudonym Herge.
"Tintin" is the story of an intrepid young reporter with a cowlicked coif who, with his dog Snowy, inevitably finds himself at the center of global adventures.
Tintin's friends and allies include his mentor, Captain Haddock, police officers Thomson and Thompson and Professor Cuthbert Calculus.
The "Tintin" comicstrip was first published in 1929 in Belgian newspaper Le Petit Vingtieme and was eventually translated into more than 50 languages. "Tintin" has already been the subject of several animated adaptations for motion pictures and television.
Kennedy and Spielberg have produced more than 30 pictures together; most recent was "A.I. Artificial Intelligence."
Spielberg's next pic, "Catch Me If You Can," will be released by DreamWorks Christmas Day.
Kennedy is currently in production on the U-Spyglass Entertainment co-production "Seabiscuit," set for a July 25 release.

Last night concert at L'auditori was superb, my congratulations to Mrs Rachel Worby and The OBC....very touching was the large Standing Ovation, more than 10 minutes. It's true!!! And the question is ...Mr.Williams, what are you waiting for?????
Rumours: next year there's a chance that a very important film composer who has not been in Spain before comes to Madrid (Auditorio de Madrid,c/Príncipe de Vergara) ..all we know Mr Goldsmith, Mr Bernstein, Mr. Morricone, Mr Jarre, Mr Conti, Mr Yared, Mr Kamen...have already been in Spain before, so...the question is, what about Williams or Barry?...

AMBLIN
This is the movie everyone wants to see but Mr Spielberg doesn't authorize its release, why not?? I don't know!!! I had the chance to see it this weekend (in a very low quality) and it's lovely, even it's interesting the music that Mr Michael Lloyd composed. Also I'd like to see Savage....The dvd is a very interesting place to include these rare things, don't you think???
